A web platform for posting job vacancies, browsing career opportunities, and managing applications, built using Node.js, Express, MySQL, and server-rendered EJS templates.

Modern recruitment portals often suffer from excessive client-side JavaScript, third-party trackers, and slow initial rendering times that frustrate applicants on mobile devices and degrade search engine indexing. Job boards require fast server-rendered pages, clear categorization, and reliable application intake pipelines.

Enabling candidates to filter job listings without building a complex single-page application framework that adds bloat.

Selected MySQL for strict relational integrity between employers, job vacancies, candidate applications, and contract types.

Soft Deletions for Archived Listings vs Hard Deletes
Maintained historical application audit records by soft-deleting expired jobs (is_active flag) rather than executing DELETE FROM jobs.
All listing queries must include WHERE is_active = 1 filter guards.

Quality Strategy: Responsive layout testing across mobile/desktop viewports and MySQL schema relational foreign key verification.
Verified Test Scenarios
- Multi-parameter URL query filtering (category, contract type, search keywords) in Express route handlers.

- Foreign key constraint checks ensuring orphan applications cannot be inserted without a valid job reference.
